8 hours hands on $200 July 13th 2026 9am to 5pm This eight hour training provides practical instruction in adapting massage and energywork for clients undergoing cancer treatment or living with a cancer history. Students learn how cancer and its treatments affect the body, how to safely modify pressure, positioning, pacing, and session structure, and how to recognize common contraindications. The class also addresses emotional presence, trauma awareness, and supporting clients during vulnerable life stages. After foundational instruction, participants spend most of the day practicing adapted hands-on techniques designed to promote comfort, relaxation, and a sense of safety. Learning Objectives By the end of this course, participants will be able to: Describe how cancer and common cancer treatments impact body systems relevant to hands-on work. Identify contraindications and necessary precautions when providing massage or energywork for oncology clients. Modify pressure, pace, and session length to support comfort and reduce risk. Demonstrate safe positioning techniques for clients with limited mobility, pain, or medical devices. Apply trauma-aware communication and obtain informed consent for oncology-focused sessions. Recognize lymphedema risk factors and explain appropriate modifications to avoid complications. Structure a session specifically adapted for clients in active treatment, recovery, or long-term survivorship. Demonstrate gentle hands-on and energywork techniques appropriate for oncology care.
