There is a lot of talk around the term ‘Self Care” of late. Is it an excuse to blow $200.00 on a new haircut? Maybe for some people. But more importantly Self care is that whcih REFULES you, that which REFRESHES you, that which RECHARGES you. It might be a bubble bath with flower petals and music. It might be a daily meditation practice or yoga.
It can be massage.
Massage lowers the production of stress hormones- making you feel less stressed. Massage eases the stress you already feel (or it should) so you feel better. Massage lowers your blood pressure, your blood sugar, eases pain, stiffness and adds flexibility to your body.
These effects are not only during the massage but can last for days and weeks after. Regular massage can make it so that those cramped neck muscles are not as – crampy. Massage can make that back pain less bothersome so you can get back to golfing or baseball or volleyball or that treadmill or dance studio.
Massage makes life better. When life is better you enjoy it
more. You are more productive at work, more engaging to coworkers and others.
Maybe even more motivated.
Massage is Self Care.
Self Care is Health Care.
