Bodywork augmented by essential oils can help make the effects of bodywork last longer and have a greater effect. Be sure that the LMT you are working with has a good knowledge base to work from and is not just applying any essential oil willy-nilly. Also be sure they are properly diluted in a carrier oil.
Essential oils are not toys or just scents. They are powerful medicine and because of this, they can interact with medications or over-the-counter products you are taking. I am not trying to scare you away from experiencing the wonderful benefits of essential oils but I do want you to be informed.
There are some essential oils considered to be generally safe.
Clary sage- avoid if pregnant
Myrrh-avoid if pregnant

Each of these essential oils has a variety of issues that they can be used for. In bodywork, your therapist should chose the oil(s) that best treat your specific issues whether they be physical, emotional or mental.
